Retail & Contract Sales Positions
CASHIER This is one of our most important positions. Cashiers are usually the first employees to greet our customer, either in person or on the telephone, and as always, first impressions are extremely important. You are also the last employee our customer interacts with, leaving a lasting impression. Cashiers operate our cash registers, help customers on the telephone, stock product in our store and keep it tidy and also help customers with sales when needed. Full time/PT time avail.
SALES ASSOCIATE
The primary goal of our Retail Sales
Associates (also referred to as Garden Advisors) is to work with customers to ensure
their gardening success. Our sales associates are key in the quality of our customers
shopping and gardening experience.
These individuals should have solid plant and gardening knowledge and enjoy working
outside with sustained physical activity. In addition to working with Customers, Sales
Associates also participate in all other nursery activities, such as product stocking,
customer check-out, signage,
plant maintenance and training meetings.
SUPPORT/CARRY OUT Our support staff has a great
impact on the experience of
our customer. Support staff assists every customer with carryout needs as required, from pulling
product in the nursery
for them to loading it into their vehicle. Support Staff stocks all areas of the Garden Center when
needed and help keep product fronted and organized. They see that the Garden Center is kept safe
and clean for a customer
friendly environment. Assist with fountain set-ups and facility maintenance when required. Full
time/PT avail.
DOCK SUPERVISOR The Dock Supervisor is key in
making sure our product gets into the store for our customers. This position is
crucial to customer satisfaction.The general responsibility of the Dock
Supervisor is to oversee all receiving dock operations and ensure that all
product and paperwork is properly received and processed in a timely manner.
Receiving, inspecting and pricing are major components of the position. The
Dock Supervisor trains all seasonal dock associates in all procedures
procedures including operations, paper work, daily dock responsibilities and
safety. See that all equipment is properly maintained. i.e. forklift,
stacker, computer and pricing tools. Full Time.
ASSISTANT MANAGER The primary role of the Assistant Manager is
that of a Sales Associate: To work with customers to ensure their gardening
success.The Assistant Manager is a working Floor Manager. In addition to sales
duties, the Assistant Manager will back up the Retail & Contract
Salesmanager in all areas, identifying and executing daily work tasks such as
store signage, plant maintenance, clean-up, stocking and inventory needs as well as opening and closing
duties. The Assistant Manager functions as the MOD (Manager on Duty) in the
absence of the Store Manager.
